Sunspotter - Imaging Program

Sun Whole Disk 6/10/23 This log contains images of sunspots photographed in full spectrum (400-700nm) white light only for the imaging version of the Astronomical League's Sunspotter Observing Program. For this program, one must image 20 full solar disks over two Carrington rotations, calculating sunspot counts and identifying the class of each active region. Additionally one must image five sunspots and label the features.

I completed the visual/sketching version of this program on 6/30/2014, certificate #165 and earned the imaging version on 7/25/2023, certificate #165-I.

For more sunspot images taken after completion of this program, click here.

All of my images below were taken from the driveway of my home in Atlanta, GA at 33.867N,-84.267W.
