Every family has its own traditions - and the Girl Scout family is no different! Learn "fun" ways to share traditions common to all USA Girl Scouts with your group, then go in depth with the tradition of ceremonies. We'll explore how Girl Scouts at every grade level can plan their own ceremonies, from investiture to bridging and everything in-between: meeting openings and closings, flag ceremonies, awards, rededication (including pinning and membership stars), Scouts' Own, and Girl Scout special days. Props for practicing ceremonies; electronic copies of sample ceremonies; recommended websites. Paper and pencil for note-taking (optional) Hands-on experience in teaching girls how to plan ceremonies that are meaningful to them; increased awareness of Girl Scout traditions that link us to our sister Girl Scouts and Guides; and the importance of allowing girls to create their own ceremonies and traditions. 6 30 3 hrs Free Margaret Paschal
