Go for the bull's eye. After a safety orientation, an archery instructor will guide you through practice shooting. If you are checking this class out for troop camping, it is for grades 4+. Big Eyes, Women and Painting in the 50's New!

A 50s inspired “Sips and Strokes” painting class - come ready to paint to your heart’s content, then display your art work (cabin or dining hall). We'll will be talking about women in Arts in the 50's, based on the movie "Big Eyes". Art paper, paintbrushes, art paint/supplies (water colors or other, cups/tubs for rinsing brushes, paper towels and cleaning spray for clean up, newspaper. This is a combo craft class. In the first half of the class, we'll have a scavenger hunt and make some fairy garden accessories for our tabletop fairy garden. Mandatory training for troops planning an overnight experience with their girls using indoor facilities (hotels, cabins, lodges, etc.). This is the first instructor-led class and the third class in the sequence of 5 core classes required for troop camper certification.

Two Prerequisites: Trips and Overnights AND Camping Registration - register for these 2 online classes using LARC.
Handouts, Guide for Camping & Outdoor Education books, other teaching supplies. Dress for the weather and bring a water bottle to stay hydrated, a camp chair for comfort, a hard or electronic copy of Volunteer Essentials, a sit-upon or garden kneeling pad (you will be putting one knee on the ground) and, if you have long hair, a bandanna or rubber band to tie it back away from your face.

Also bring a small plastic grocery bag filled with

  • tinder (twigs from your yard that are ranging in size of pencil lead to size of your forefinger) and
  • kindling (large pieces of wood from the size of your forefinger to 2 inches in diameter) so you can practice fire building skills.

Silk Screening T-Shirts

Participants will use the equipment to silk screen a t-shirt or item of their choice with a logo featuring this year's theme. You may leave as soon as your item has been processed. Screen. paints and any necessary tools, paper to put behind shirt, clothespins and line to hang items. Participant needs to bring t-shirt or other item with a flat blank surface of at least 12"x12". Steps to Savannah

Learn the process for taking your troop to Savannah to visit the Juliette Gordon Lowe Birthplace. Ensure that your girls will have the best visit they possibly can have. GSUSA is now requiring that at least one adult from your troop take this class before you sign your troop up to take an official tour. This adult should be prepared to work with the girls to get them ready. Handouts and guidelines from GSUSA Volunteer Essentials, paper, pencil or pen, questions & concerns. Zip Line
CAMP CLASS
Climb up into the high challenge and then take a ride down the zip line. This activity includes one zip per person, ground school, and a cooperative game. If you are checking this activity out for your troop, it is for grades 6+.
Fee must be pre-paid at time of event registration.
A belay safety system is in place at all times. Climbing helmets instructions & ground school are provided for participants. All equipment provided. All participants must wear close-toed shoes and long shorts or pants. Dress for the weather.
