Archery - Make a few bull’s eyes at the archery range. Spend time learning the basics of archery and enjoy your success as you hit the target.

Balloon Twisting - Learn how to twist balloons into dogs, cats, mice, swans, flowers and popular swords.

Basic Stitches - Get a refresher (or basic instruction) in basic stitches - mending, hems, buttons, patches, counted cross stitch, embroidery, etc. Bring own stitching supplies or pattern you need help with. Finish projects started last year (quilting, crochet, etc\c)

Belly Dancing - A fun filled class focusing on belly dance technique and choreography. This class is designed to get your body moving and your hips shaking. Will have some coin sashes available for purchase during Marketplace.

Cake Decorating - Learn to make a butter cream icing and learn basic cake decorating techniques.

Camp Helper - Camp helpers assist the Planning Committee by collecting Class rosters and taking photos of classes in progress. You'll get to walk around camp and see what all the classes are doing (this will help you pick which class you want to take next year!). You may also get to do some administrative tasks like filing or stuffing envelopes. Receive a $5 rebate that may be used towards class fees as our thank-you!

Candy, Candy, Candy - Learn to make cute gifts using previously wrapped candy. Learn to make a Hershey's Kisses bouquet.

***Ceremonies & Traditions - Learn to help girls plan and carry out meaningful ceremonies throughout the year. Includes flag ceremonies, openings, closings, investiture, rededication, scouts’ own, etc.

Challenge Tower - Meet the challenge of the tower! Climb to the top of the tower & ride the zip line down.

Costume/Fashion Show – Join us for a fashion show and costume contest! Participants will vie for 1^st, 2^nd, and 3^rd place prizes so bring your favorite "Under the Sea" outfit with you!

Counted Cross Stitch Advanced - for participants who already know the basics of counted cross stitch. Come for advanced instructions. Work on own project and get help if needed.

Counted Cross Stitch Basics - for veteran stitcher or beginner, check out a collection of girl-friendly cross stitch kits. You will not need to bring anything (unless you have favorite tools) because kits have everything, even scissors. Will discuss buying your own materials and examine samples.

Crafts for all Seasons - How to make a craft for the season that makes good decorations or pins.

Creative Card Making - In this class you will learn to make two cards using unique technique. Learn Iris Folding - a folded paper technique in a spiral design that mimics the aperture of a camera and Computer Graphics - downloaded images that are embellished. Does not include stamping.

Creative Crafts - Participants will learn several craft ideas and complete several projects.

Crochet - Intermediate. Covers various more advanced stitches (shell, popcorn, ripple pattern, etc.) Double braid hairpin lace/crochet and additional stitches as time permits. Participant may bring a pattern they need help with and necessary supplies to work on that pattern or may make a sampler, hot pad, scarf, etc. using new stitches.

Crochet Beginning I - Beginning Crochet covering basic stitches: slip stitch, single- and double crochet, turning work; additional stitches if time permits. Participants may make sampler, hot pad, scarf etc with knowledge of basic stitches during the weekend and afghans and other items after returning home. This class is for true beginner; please no experienced crocheters!

***Effective Leader with Daughter in Troop - Give both your daughter and yourself a 100% positive Girl Scout experience. Achieve balance between your roles of leader and mom. Discover proven methods in dealing with concerns, expectations and issues.

Fitness Class - Warm up stretches, then 40 minutes of aerobic exercise, then some strength training with a cool down

Free Time – Free time to explore camp on your own, rest, read, whatever!! Bring your own project/hobby to work on. Network & work on your own.

Friendship Blanket (no-sew blanket) – make & take a blanket with some new friends. If you can tie a knot, you can make these blankets.

Fun with Macramé – Participants will learn how to tie several macramé knots. Participants will also complete two macramé projects.

Get Acquainted Game - Meet in the dining hall to play a wonderful get acquainted game. Meet and greet other campers.

Girl Scout Uniform Scrapbook Pages - Cherish your Girl Scout memories designing a Girl Scout vest scrapbook page. This 12x12 page looks like a GS vest - use for awards or for in a scrapbook. Specify Brownie, Junior, or Cadette vest ahead of time.

Girl World – Come learn about some of the secret challenges girls 11-17 face and how to help them get through adolescence. Blogging and girl language will be discussed, like SYRS (see you real soon).

Gurlz Rulz Tulz - This is not one of your Dad's tools! This hammer will stay where you put it because what manly man will every be caught using your one-of-a-kind hammer.

Hike to Explore Camp - Take a hike and explore Camp Misty Mountain! Go on a self-guided hike (maps/suggested routes provided). Network with others or enjoy time on your own. No instructor/guide.

Horseback Riding (Ring Lesson) - Build your horseback riding skills in the ring. This activity is a great choice for beginner riders. A barn option will be substituted in case of inclement weather (or participants may request that class fees be refunded or may “donate” fees to the camp for horse programs).

Horseback Riding (Trail Ride) - After passing a riding control test in the ring, participants will take a leisurely trail ride. If you do not pass the control test, you will have a ring lesson. A barn option will be substituted in case of inclement weather (or participants may request that class fees be refunded or may “donate” fees to the camp for horse programs).

Jewelry Making Basics - Learn techniques and learn about beading tools, findings, bead styles and other misc. supplies. You will design and make a full set of jewelry (necklace, bracelet and earrings) and leave with supplies to create more.

Knitting (Beginning) - Learn to cast on, knit, purl, and bind off.

Knitting (Intermediate) - Learn what a yarn over is and whatever other stitches, etc. the class wants. MUST know basic knit, purl, and bind off.

Knots & Lashing – Learn to tie basic knots and rope tricks to share with your troop. Fun activities using ropes. Learn basic lashing skills (square and round lashing).

Kudzu Wreath - make a wreath out of Kudzu vines, then decorate them for spring décor.

Low Challenge Course - Learn all about teamwork as you work with a group of leaders to complete challenges together on the Misty Mountain Low Course (no more than 6' off ground).

Making Tracks Trail Initiative - Come learn about this new council patch program! Girl Scouts have partnered with REI to offer a unique way to explore the out-of-doors, learn about the environment, and stay safe while hiking. Earn PEAK trail sign and get introduction to letterboxing, camp trail signs, and hiking.

Massage Therapy - Come prepared to relax for a 1/2 hour massage with relaxing music and candles. Enjoy a relaxation and therapeutic massage (certified LMT).

Mosaics for all Ages - For Daisy through Ambassadors, paper mosaics, button, china tile mosaics, 3 projects with how-to's for your troops. (Paper and wood forms provided.)

Mystery Class - This is a true "Mystery" class - you don't know what you're signing up for until you get there!

***Outdoors and S'mores - First step for troops planning troop camping experiences. Teaches adults the steps in working with girls to plan and carry out an overnight experience using indoor facilities (lodges, cabins, etc.) with kitchens and indoor bathrooms at council camps as well as other approved camp facilities. In addition, this course covers health and safety considerations, facilities available at council camps, meal planning, kaper charts, equipment and packing.

Painless Public Speaking - Come learn some tricks that will make your next public speaking opportunity more fun and less stressful. Learn how speaking to a group can actually be fun. Novices are welcome!

Paper Bag Scrapbooks - Are you looking for a mini-album project that's fun, inexpensive and lends itself to any theme? Paper Bag Scrapbooks are unique mini scrapbooks that are made using standard paper bags that you used to pack your lunch in when you went to school. Add some embellishments with a little imagination and your paper-bag is morphed into a book. Once you've made one, you will be hooked!

***Peer Proofing - This workshop will prepare participants to help girls increase self-esteem while dealing with negative peer pressure. After completing this workshop, you may contact the Program Department to check out "I Am Peer Proof" materials.

Punch Critters and Friends - Learn to use punched paper shapes (circles, hearts, stars, etc.) to make sheep, turtles, frogs, and flowers – all kinds of cute designs! Teach your girls to make these cute critters and friends – use in scrapbooks, on cards or bookmarks, or to decorate a package.

Quilling - Take your paper projects from "blah" to "wow". Quilling or paper filigree, is the centuries old craft of rolling strips of paper and shaping it. You will learn just how easy it is to create beautifully quilled pieces that you can use to embellish scrapbook pages, cards, tags, photo mats, more. Begin by learning how to make basic quilling shapes, then see how to combine it all to complete several projects.

Quilting (Beginning) – Beginner Quilting: Learn how to assemble and begin hand quilting techniques by using a preprinted panel that can be finished at home into a pillow or sampler for later display.

***Recognitions - This class is not just for the Recognitions Chair. Recognitions is an attitude of appreciation whether simple or formal. We all want our efforts to be noticed, appreciated and recognized. Come see how much fun this can be!

Recycled Blue Jean Crafts - Make purses, pillows, pocket magnets and more from recycling old blue jeans. Extra blue jean pieces will be available to take home to do some of the crafts with your troop.

Riflery - Shoot for the target as you use CMM's new BB and Air Rifle guns.

Sewing Basics - Sewing Basics—by Hand: Learn the basics on how to thread a needle, knot it, and begin hand sewing hiding the knots when possible. In addition, you can learn mending basics like how to sew on a patch, a button, or hem a garment.

Soda Can Tab Belts - learn to make a decorative belt using recycled aluminum can pop tops and satin cord.

***Songs & Games - Learn Girl Scouts songs that provide a universal language for all Girl Scouts and Girl Guides. Enjoy an environment of fun and sisterhood. Learn games that teach cooperation, fair play, physical and mental coordination, and knowledge of Girl Scouting.

Special Event Swaps - Learn to make swaps for different events.

Stained Glass Angel - Come learn how to teach your girls how to make a stained glass angel. This activity is fun for older girls as they will learn how to use a soldering iron and other glass artist tools. You will complete your own unique creation in this class. These make excellent gifts for your "Green Angel."

Star Gazing - Stargazing on Friday &/or Saturday night. We'll meet in the dining hall for a brief star talk and to get star charts & handouts. If skies are clear, we'll go outside for a guided tour of the planets, stars & constellations of the winter sky.

***Storytelling - Learn how to use stories in nearly every aspect of troop life from discipline to ceremonies; how to turn a story into a game; how to appreciate and tell your own stories and help girls share their stories in ways that stimulate imagination.

Super Science I - Be Surprised! Not everything is what it seems! Learn some simple and fun activities that will amaze and excite your girls. Primarily for Brownies-Junior levels, although all ages welcome.

Super Science II - Play with science! Have fun and learn great activities that will amaze and excite your girls. Primarily for Junior and up, although all ages welcome. The take-home is a surprise!

Swap Corner Trading - join other campers in the dining hall and trade swaps!

Swaps from Recycled Items - Learn creative uses os swaps from recycled items. Will also make a handy carrying pouch from recycled blue jean material.

Sweatshirt Designs – Participants will have an opportunity to decorate a sweatshirt using various art media: stencils, iron-on, paint, buttons, bows and more.
