Spring Registration 2008 March 17 through May 23 Register in the Spring!

The council encourages girls and their families to participate in Spring Registration. Troop leaders and Girl Scout families that participate in spring registration are helping to keep girls in Girl Scouting another year where their growth and development can continue. Girls will also enjoy another year of wonderful program opportunities, camping fun and much more.
Top Ten Reasons to Participate in Spring Registration
10. The service unit registrar will thank you!
9. You will have uninterrupted service in mailings, publications, etc. from the council office.
8. By signing the troop up now, girls and parents can go ahead and plan for troop activities in the fall.
7. Girl incentives will fill in a “blank” spot on girls’ vest/sash.
6. Girls may begin working on leadership awards over the summer rather than waiting until the fall.
5. No worrying about lapsed activity insurance at fall activities.
4. One less thing to stress over during the summer.
3. Troop proceeds from the cookie sale or troop treasury can be used to pay for girls’ registration fee. You can carry on Juliette Gordon Low’s idea of troops being self-sustaining and the parents will appreciate the good financial stewardship.

Spring Registration Incentive Program
Spring registration is an incentive based program that will reward troop leaders and girls that participate. All existing troops and individual members who plan to return to Girl Scouts for the 2008-2009 membership year are eligible to participate. There is a segment patch for girls to earn that participate in spring registration. There are three segments to the patch which reinforces the new mission statement and Girl Scout vision. The patch is exclusive to girls participating in spring registration and will not be available for sale in the Badge & Sash store.
Girls who participate in spring registration this year will be one step closer to completing their patch and will receive the second segment, Confidence 2009.
Troop leaders who meet the following guidelines will receive an “awesome” tote bag. (Only the leaders who register their troops in the spring will have these!!)
