The Lighthouse Award  This award is given to one individual in the Service Unit who has given continuous outstanding service in his/her service unit. This award acknowledges the efforts of a volunteer whose encouragement, support, and continuous work serves as a steady “beacon in the wilderness” over time.

  • The candidate is an active, registered adult member of Girl Scouts of the USA.

  • Service performed by the candidate is delivered to one geographic area or service unit within the council jurisdiction.

  • This award is given to the one person who best represents the adult Girl Scout volunteer in the service unit. This person may or may not already have the Outstanding Leader, Outstanding Volunteer or Appreciation Pin. This person shows consistent and continued support to the service unit by “always being there."

  • Service continuously goes beyond the expectations and contributes to the service unit’s goals and objectives.
