The Lighthouse Award This award is given to one individual in the Service Unit each year who has given continuous outstanding service in his/her service unit. This award acknowledges the efforts of a volunteer whose encouragement, support, and continuous work serves as a steady “beacon in the wilderness” over time. You may use our online form to nominate someone for the Lighthouse Award at anytime during the year. Our Service Unit Awardees are Maureen McCord (2005), Beth Unger (2004), Kippy Shea (2003), Rosalie Baine (2002), Roberta Goldbaugh (2001), Anne O'Neil (2000), and Lianne Griffin (1999). No award was given in 2006.

The Daisy Award This award is given to an organization (or individual) which has provided outstanding support of Girl Scouting by increasing Girl Scout visibility in the community and/or contributing to the successful accomplishment of the Service Unit's objectives. More than one Daisy Award may given per year. Our Service Unit Awardees have included a Doraville brush company which for several years offered us the use of their warehouse for cookie delivery, Embry Hills United Methodist Church & St. Bede's Episcopal Church for hosting troop and Service Unit meetings, St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church for twice hosting our Father-Daughter dances, and Embry Hill Kroger for scheduling & welcoming our cookie booths for many years. You may use our online form to nominate someone for the Daisy Award at anytime during the year. |
