Camporee 2010 General Information

Arrival Procedures - Please do not arrive at camp before 5:30 pm. When you
arrive, please stop your car in the circle and unload all of your gear onto
the side of the road anywhere in the circle. Then drive your car to the
parking lot and walk back to the gym to check in. The golf carts will begin
taking gear to the cabins at 5:45. Your troop needs to help load and unload
the golf carts to expedite the procedure. There will be many cars unloading
and only two golf carts, so your patience is appreciated.  Older girls are
encouraged to carry their own gear to the cabins. If you arrive later than
6:30, please unload your gear and head directly to the dining hall. Your
gear will be taken to your cabin after dinner.

Check in - Please come into the gym after you park your car so that you can
receive your group stickers for Saturday and Vegetarian stickers for those
that requested them. At this time you will let us know the name of your
talent show act so that we can make a schedule.

In Case of Emergencies - Troop 1009 will be staying in Cabin 1. Please let
us know if there is a situation in which you require assistance. Our Level
II First Aider will be staying in Cabin 4.

In the Dining Hall - Troops have been assigned to specific tables. You will
sit at the same table for all meals during the weekend. Do not rearrange
seating assignments, as we have girls with allergies who cannot be in
contact with certain foods. All troops are responsible for cleaning their
own tables after meals.

*        Pick up a "bus tub", one wet towel, two dry towels, and a small
plastic bag.

*        Scrape all food and paper into the plastic bag.

*        Pour all liquids into pitchers.

*        Place dishes, silverware and glasses into the bus tub.

*        Take tub to dishwashing area and place on rack.

*        Take pitchers to dishwashing area and place on rack.

*        Put all trash in trash can.

*        Wipe tables clean.

*        Sweep floor around your table, spot mop if necessary.

*        Push chairs under table. Stack chairs on table (Sunday breakfast).

No one will clean up after us. The way you leave your table is the way you
will find it for your next meal.

Dining Hall/Announcements - Grace will be led before each meal by assigned
troops. If you volunteered to lead a grace, it is listed on the activity
schedule. Please be in the Dining Hall a few minutes early if you are
leading the grace. We'll have Greek Mythology Trivia at meal time, so come
early if you want to play.

Campfire - We will have a campfire on Friday night at 8:15 in the fire
circle (see camp map). Any troop who would like to lead a song is welcome
to! Younger troops can go first in case you need to get into bed earlier.:-)

Cabin Decorating Contest- You may go ahead and decorate your cabin as soon
as you have a chance. Cabins will be judged on Saturday afternoon and the
winner will be announced at Sunday breakfast.

Leader Meeting - On Friday night in the Dining Hall, leaders will meet for a
brief time at    10:30 pm to rehearse our talent show act and review any
information about the weekend activities. Please plan to be present.

Cadette and Senior Movie - The older girls may want to come to the Media
Center
on Friday night at 10 pm to watch the Disney movie Hercules on the
big screen TV. Wear your PJs and bring a pillow and blanket if you wish!

Opening Flag Ceremony - All troops need to gather at the flagpole outside
the Dining Hall immediately after breakfast clean up on Saturday morning.
The flag ceremony will be conducted by Troop 4416 beginning at 8:30. All
troops must be present. Please remind your girls about proper flag
etiquette.

*        Silence during ceremony.

*        Hats off with hand over heart while flag is being raised. (From the
time "Color Guard, Post the Colors" command is given.)

Saturday Morning Activities - Schedule and map posted. You will receive your
stickers with your group name on them at check-in.

Saturday Afternoon Activities - Schedule posted. Arrive on time because
there are limited numbers allowed to participate at once. Feel free to enjoy
the other sports activities at camp during the rest of your free time.

Torch Relay Saturday Evening - At 7:30 pm on Saturday night we will be
kicking off the talent show with an "Olympic" torch relay. Older girls will
be stationed along the walkway, and the torch will be passed in front of the
cabins leading up to the gym. If your troop would like to watch the relay,
please stand on the porch of your cabin or on the grass in front of your
cabin.  No one will be permitted on the walkway during the relay (beginning
at 7:20). Leaders, we ask for your cooperation in keeping the path clear for
the time the relay takes place. After the runners have passed your cabin,
you may walk with your group up to the gym following the same path in the
same direction.

Talent Show - Please give us any CDs your troop will be using for the talent
show at dinner on Saturday night. Label with your troop number and the name
of the song so we can announce your group. Youngest troops perform first.
Remember that you should have a group act -this is not a time to showcase
individual talents. Also, keep your skit/lip sync/song or dance to under 3
minutes.

Scout's Own - What is a Scout's Own? It is a ceremony planned by scouts for
scouts. On Sunday morning we will meet in the gym to participate in a
Scout's Own ceremony planned by Troop 4077 immediately after breakfast clean
up. All troops must be present.

SWAPS - Please wait till the conclusion of the Scout's Own for our all-camp
SWAP in the gym. Patches will be distributed at this time. All troops must
be present.

Check Out Procedures - When all of your gear is packed, you may put it out
onto the front porch of your cabin. You will be allowed to leave once your
cabin has been inspected.
