Pick up your cookie order at the Lott's on Sunday March 5th between noon & 5 PM.
Outside of those times, please call first to make sure someone is home.

Snowy Misty Mountain!

We had a great time and succeeded in making 15 bears, bunnies, and puppies.  Some of our first-time sewers found that they could indeed turn out something quite respectable.  Anne came to help us finish interviewing 3 crafts-persons for the Textile Arts IPP by telling us about her new business making LARP costumes. The horse barn got some excellent help, and Callie and Crystal found out how fast dark comes after sunset in the winter.  We didn’t get to do everything that we would have liked to do, but we had a great time anyway.  The snow was just beautiful.

And Here’s a Question:

Do we want to plan an end of the year trip?  If we do, where should we go?  What would we like to do?  How much of our troop money do we want to spend?  Okay, so that’s four questions.  Start thinking and we’ll talk at the March 17 meeting. [Note: Please bring a family check to our March meeting to pay for your cookie order, if you haven't already turned it in by then.]

Things Coming Up

We have a number of things coming up. Here’s the list to refresh your memories.

March 4-5

Cookies Arrive

Weekend for cookie delivery & pick up

Saturday March 4 – Cookies arrive for Three Leaves Service Unit.  Mrs. Unger is the Service Unit Cookie Chair, and she needs warehouse help!  Dads are particularly welcome for the lifting parts of this job.
On Sunday March 5th, each family needs to come by the Lott's house and pick up your cookie order. Try to come by between noon & 5 PM, otherwise please call first to make sure someone is home.  Remember that Mrs. Lott will need one check per family by our March 17th meeting. The Council will not take checks your customers write.

March 11 Cookie Booth @
Embry Hills Kroger, 1-5 PM
Mark your calendars! Everyone needs to help out! We need all girls to attend plus 2 adults. We can probably work in shifts. You'll be glad to hear that we did sell a lot of cookies, and with the ones Mrs. Lott ordered for the cookie booth, we made our cash bonus!  Hooray for all of your hard work!  Many thanks, too, to our college girls who helped us get over the amount where we get a larger percentage per box. Now let’s get those extra cookies sold at the cookie booth!

Mar. 12 - Mar. 18

Girl Scout Week

Girl Scout Birthday, March 12, commemorates the day in 1912 when Juliette Gordon Low officially registered the organization's first 18 girl members in Savannah, Georgia.

Girl Scout Week is celebrated each March, starting with Girl Scout Sunday and ending with Girl Scout Sabbath on a Saturday, and it always includes the Girl Scout Birthday, March 12.

Girl Scout Sunday and Girl Scout Sabbath give girls an opportunity to attend their place of worship and be recognized as a Girl Scout. If a place of worship is the group sponsor, girls may perform a service, such as greeting, ushering, or doing a flag ceremony. These days can also be a time when girls explore other faiths. We don’t usually attend church all together in uniform, but you might want to do that on your own or maybe wear your pin.

March 17,
 7-10 pm

Regular Meeting

We need to know who wants to attend the UGA Vet School Open House in April. Bring a family check to pay for your cookie order, if you haven't turned it in already.

March 22 Jessie's Birthday
March 25 CPR Saturday

We want to volunteer and to certify or re-certify, and we’ll count on Mr. Callaway, who is teaching, to help us get signed up.  Mrs. Gargiullo & Mrs. Lott can’t come because they will be at the 20-year Girl Scout luncheon at Timber Ridge. Cool!  Now all your Advisors are 20+ year Girl Scouts.

April 15 Field Trip!

We might be able to visit Nease’s Needlework in Decatur.  Susan Nease would like to know when we want to come.  Please contact Pat ASAP.
