Winter Wonderland Day Event for Families or Troops  

Get in the holiday spirit and play in the “snow”! Saturday wintery activities may include games, crafts, holiday tree lighting, campfire holiday songs and s’mores with additional surprises to come. Take action and bring a new gift to donate to another child for the holidays.

CAMPING EVENT/COOKING

IRON CHEF SPASTIC

This event is specially designed for girls that enjoy the art of cooking mixed with relaxation time who want to enjoy winter camping in one of our cabins. We will spend the day cooking a variety of dishes, experience arts and crafts and top off your evening with a visit to the Timber Ridge spa and a movie. Activities will be scheduled by grade level.

FAMILY EVENT/HORSEBACK RIDING

Family Fun Day  

Spend a great day connecting with your family on the rolling hills and open spaces of Camp Meriwether. Discover the fun of family activities which may include games, hikes, camp crafts, kite-flying (bring your own kite), relay races, and much more. Horseback riding is available for an additional $8 per person. Pack a lunch and bring the whole family (even little brothers!) to enjoy a day at Camp Meriwether together.

CAREER/TECHNICAL LEARNING EVENT/MONDAY PRESIDENTS DAY

Tenth Annual Lockheed Martin Career Exploration  

Come visit Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company to discover engineering and technology careers! Spend time one-on-one with women engineers and other professionals from Lockheed Martin who can tell you about the high tech and aerospace career worlds. You will be able to complete the “What’s Out There?” and “Who’s Out There?” parts of your Girl Scout Silver Award or part of the “Career-shadow one or more people” Gold Award Career Award requirements. In addition, you can complete multiple career requirements towards various Interest Project awards. Your invitation to Lockheed Martin includes lunch and a facility tour where you will see the production of the F-22 and C-130J Lockheed Martin aircraft!

BRIDGING TO CADETTE EVENT – SATISFIES PATCH REQUIREMENTS

Girl Scout Madness  

What is Girl Scout Madness? It is a bridging event to show Girl Scout Juniors all the great opportunities there are for Girl Scout Cadettes. Girls will prepare for crossing the bridge with Girl Scouts in Middle and High School while completing some of the steps towards their Bridge to Cadette patch requirements. During the event, adults will attend sessions with program level updates and trainings and not attend girls’ sessions. Adults should complete their own registration form in order to receive training supplies.

OUTDOOR ROPES COURSE CHALLENGE/TEAMWORK

Challenge Course Challenge II  

The challenge course is designed to help troops and individuals discover how to work together, improve communication skills, set troop and personal goals, and develop trust within the troop and much more. This is an economical way to give your girls a taste of the challenge course. The wall will be open for Brownies in the afternoon session only.

FAMILY/ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS

Third Annual Southern Poly Earth Day Family Fair  

Bring your family and celebrate Earth Day on the campus of Southern Polytechnic State University in Marietta. Discover a fun-filled and educational day with a focus on science, technology and the environment. Each registered Girl Scout will receive an event patch and will have access to multiple hands-on activities led by Southern Poly professors. There will be lots to do and see for accompanying family members too. When registering, please mark the number of paid girls on the “Girl” line and the number of accompanying family members on the “Adult” line. Only registered girls and family members will receive lunch.

HORESEBACK RIDING/KAYAKING

Saddles and Paddles Day Event  

Saddle up and dive in to a horse and water weekend! All participants will enjoy paddle time in a kayak and canoe; lake journeys on the pontoon boat; and time at the barn horseback riding, grooming and tacking. Participants may pay and additional fee of $20 for a small group lesson lasting one hour (tacking and riding). FUN DAY WITH DAD

A Day with My Favorite Guy  

This event is designed for girls to bring their favorite guy* with them to camp. You will check-in on Sunday morning then spend the day participating in activities to discover the fun of camp which may include canoeing, archery, swimming, crafts, tie dying, letterboxing the Camp Timber Ridge way, hiking, and challenge course activities. The fee will include lunch in the dining hall and dinner over a campfire. Families will check out at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday evening. *Favorite guy may include dad, older brother, grandpas, uncles, etc. Males must be over the age of 18.
